"Negroponte sees explosive e-commerce" The founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology media lab said the prospects for e-commerce are greatly under-estimated. Speaking at the Electronic Commerce World trade show in Denver, Nicholas Negroponte estimated more than $1 trillion in online sales will be made in 2002, the Denver News reported. He said he considers electronic commerce a way for businesses in small countries to compete against global giants, and pointed out Internet access is common in Finland while the French and Germans have shown little interest.
