Lee, actually, we call the stuff "water glass" a nasty sodium silicate. Not knowing the type of leachant used, I have no idea what if silica is dissolved or not (if you want to unlock fine gold from within quartz particles, it seems you have no choice, unless that is done in the smelting).

Is the problem associated with the post precipitation water or the copper dissolution water (post smelting)?. In the latter case, silicate should not be a problem since all the silicates will go into the slag.
