Thread,

I normally just lurk here as I have no industry specific knowledge, but I was hoping someone who has been through some of the semi-equip cycles would kindly take time for a couple questions prompted by the btb of 0.6..

In previous bottoms for semi equip stocks, was there "light at the end of the tunnel" before stocks began moving back up? Or was business seemingly spiraling into a black-hole only to suprisingly pull out? I get the impression from many on the thread that the recoveries are more "surprise" than anything.

Do you view business failures and/or prevelent red ink a pre-condition for recovery? Is merger activity expected to be an indicator?

I appreciate any comments.

Shane
