I suspect everybody that posts on SI has used Yahoo either to search, set up a portfolio, specify a home page, etc. So what? You get these services for free. Do you notice, or recollect, the ads and banners on Yahoo et al? Do you buy a lot of stuff on the 'net?

Yahoo, and the other "portals" must make it by 1)selling and reselling advertising 2) signing profitable agreements with internet sellers or 3) getting good bundling deals with PC assemblers. IS this happening?

Michael, all this stuff about valuing Internets based on page views or members is nuts. Eventually yhoo and others will be valued based on revenue and earnings.
