the trading is just the icing on the cake. This market appears to have a lot of leg to it.

My sincerest hope is that, if this market rally turns into one of those agonizing climb-outs like 81-82, that a lot of investors don't get disenchanted with the sideways appearance and just cash in their chips. When the BP got down to ridiculously low levels, I found myself thinking that this rally would be just like 87, 90, and 94--straight up after going straight down. Tom D put out a great report recently contrasting that with an 1981-82 scenario, in which the BP reverses back down instead of going coast-to-coast, taking a year or more to finally make new highs.

Maybe that has tempered my thinking about just putting everything on autopilot and going long the market. That's why the trading opportunities are too good to pass up!
