Any ideas of why there always will be people afraid of DELL stock.
Dell stock just doesn't fit into the patterns that people expect. Usually when a stock goes up-up-up it's because of hype or someone cooking the books. If you don't know why it's going up-up-up then people get wary.

I haven't seen another chart which compares. I think that is because the companies which IPO and appear to have a really good idea get expensive right away. Dell did start out as just another of many boxmakers. By the time it found it's niche and strengths it had been sitting around 5 years and was off the radar screen.

re why will there always be people afraid to buy DELL stock?
Well I'm not sure your premise is correct. Maybe someday everyone will be buying DELL stock.
But seriously, some people go by P/E and some people bottom fish. Some people (even Buffet) are just afraid of technology, dont know how their portfolios go up without it but some still do.
And many people think when a stock keeps going up it will crash: that's why when I had that panic on the -18 day I had to get my therapy from this thread. I wouldnt dare tell any of my non DELL owning friends about it: they might never buy the stock after that since that is exactly what they are afraid of!

Not that I know of. All I hear is more and more warnings from major companies.
