With newly-announced models, ATI continues its sweep of the entire
line

of IBM Aptiva home PCs

TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW-PRN/ - ATI Technologies Inc.
(TSE:ATY) today announced that the RAGE(TM) PRO TURBO 2X
AGP graphics accelerator has been chosen to deliver the accelerated
graphics port (AGP) graphics and multimedia acceleration for new
IBM systems in the award-winning Aptiva line of consumer PCs.

The new IBM systems include the top-of-the-line Aptiva SE7 and
value-oriented Aptiva E4N. The Aptiva SE7 is powered by Intel's new
Pentium(R) II 450 MHz processor and features a DVD-ROM drive for
superior graphics performance in games and movies, while the Aptiva
E4N ships with AMD's recently-announced AMD-K6(R)-2/350MHz
processor.

The ATI RAGE PRO TURBO is an ideal choice for the new IBM
machines because it produces high levels of realism in 3D applications
for home PC use, and is perfect for avid gaming, Websurfing, and
SOHO multimedia enthusiasts. The software DVD replay of the RAGE
PRO TURBO produces crisp, full motion, full screen video MPEG2
playback for the best in home theater and entertainment applications.

''With these latest design wins, ATI continues its close partnership
with IBM and tradition of providing the graphics and multimedia
acceleration to the complete line of Aptiva PCs,'' said Ed Grondahl,
vice president of product marketing at ATI. ''The further selection of
the RAGE PRO TURBO is yet further proof that ATI delivers the best
AGP performance on the market, and in tandem with the latest
processor technology.''
