When you say nothing happened, that was my initial reaction too. There is a small dot on the screen, just type the stock symbol there. You should get something after hitting enter. Seems pretty worthless though.

re gritch, the user interface is, uh, minimal. Watch for the underscore character "_". Type your symbol name over that and press enter. Don't expect anything when the Nasdaq (and Island) is not open. There is a thread here at SI with more info if you have the patience to read it all. Bear in mind that gritch is an unsupported freebie. It is minimal, tempermental and often unavailable.

Mostly the point of my previous post was to disabuse people of the notion that gritch provides free level II. It does not.
