FWIW, taking a small position in GNCI @ 14. Coming a little late to the party I think, but I will get in now anyway. Company is down from highs (but up from $9 low) as they announced they will cut prices (and have reduced margins)in order to compete with increasing vitamin/health-stuff competition from large grocery chains and the WalMart gorilla. Well, that certainly is scary. (And I don't mean it to be facetious. Obviously, WalMart is a killer competitor in any area they go into. And vitamins are very profitable (or have been).)

Still, General Nutrition is the dominant player in their niche, they've got good marketing and distribution, there's insider buying, they are expanding their store base, and the pe is reasonable (assuming earnings aren't going to get clobbered too badly). Paul Senior
