As long as the stock price goes up $2 every day, I'll be happy. DISH is extremely aggressive in their marketing...mostly because they are number 2 looking to be number 1.

Go Get em Charlie...Profitability 1999 !!!! Looking for $50.

Steve: You mean you are in business for the MONEY? What about your love for the business of satellite TV, the dream of a DISH in every home and all that? Keep in mind, DIRECTV is sure to follow suit. They always fall in on Charlie's promotions...

As you may know, Echostar was recently cited as the best play in the DBS business because their cost of subscriber acquisition was a lowly $275. How are they going to keep their costs down while coming out with these dynamite promotions without squeezing dealer margins?

Let's face it. There are plenty of retailers who have proven they don't mind giving up margin on these things. That's why DISH keeps implementing them. As long as sub growth remains strong, they're not likely to change - even if it affects their dealer base long term. If things take a nosedive, maybe they'll sweeten their dealer offer, but don't think they don't have their eyes on the Dell model...

Regards,

NOEL

ps. with your caps lock on they could probably hear you in Denver. If they monitor this thread (and I'm sure they do) I think you will have gotten your point across...
