Berney; RE:" ex-dividend -3 days ? "

hey there - you guys warm and dry ?

>considering the ex-dividend issue, have you considered T + 3 ?

...yes, I have - and I am not sure how it works, Berney - have not tried to time dividends with a trading position before. Logic is telling me that: ex-dividend date means that you gotta own the stock the day before (but I'm not sure) and, I am assuming that the T+3 thingy would not affect purchase record date (but again, I'm not sure). Do you know anyone who can clarify these two things for me, Berney ?

>Interesting that none of your picks are in my database...

...I can only assume that it is because the "ersatz bonds" found on the scan are all debentures, "quids", "mids" and other stuff. Also interesting is that we're not getting any preferred stock output from our scans.

>I think I'm going to play with mine. Lesser yield but in a select group that was recognized by the market in the last year...

...{grin} well, when it comes to trading the suckers, I stick to the ones in the DUX.X and UTY.X indices; I'm even more conservative than you (^_^)
