If I find something interesting I'll stick it here. One never knows, maybe there will be some response. Although, judging from what has happened in the past, I very much doubt it. :(((

Perhaps you are aware that the Rand has strengthened by about 10% in the past few days. That will have brought down the gold price, in Rand terms, by the same amount. Presumably, that was the cause why gold shares fell on the JSE on Friday while the XAU went up considerably.

I am aware that Randgold is very much a non-SAf company today. So, it could be that's why it went up on US markets while the large-cap SAf shares fell.
