Sonki: Re margin Check with the broker,as they seem to have different rules. I often use the margin available from Dell stock to buy calls or leaps. But they do not allow margin on the calls themselves. Also, when starting to use a discount broker, I was not aware they allowed margins cause I did not sign up for it,then later found I was permitted to use margin and its a lot more than 50%. I don't know why that is, maybe because its Dell stock and they are holding the shares(Hahahah), but I can live with it.... Good luck Sig
