DUGEN: Fix arrived Saturday and works fine. Have to admit that there is a good chance WE screwed up a config file somehow. With the patch on, all systems are working now.

We have one system installed in a local (3 county) test vehicle and 1 is due to be installed to run a test from Miami via I-75 to Detroit. We are predicting success for both test but we have to document so we will do it by the numbers.

My concern is that WDS is giving up considerable equity in return for little benefits. They gave Dave Woods 650,000 shares -- for example -- to help tout the company. So much for that investment. They dumped a ton of shares to an Atlanta firm for almost zip in credit line.

If one is to rank them as a viable contender for any major contracts, they would have trouble meeting the financials requirements. No company is going to award them a contract spanning a long period of time with out WDS developing some credit lines of capital.

I would estimate that putting a rev to the current product up to the state of the art and "current standards" in the industry by the likes of the SAE or ATA would be close to $500,000. I don't see those numbers in the future (at least yet).

However, I anyone can pull it off, it's probably Mike & crew. Personally, if I was holding a chunk of WDS I would want them to concentrate on the core business and not be swayed by the "brass rings" (Mexico)!

Regards,

Hutch

Wireless Data Solutions ElectsPresident of Subsidiary
September 22, 1998 09:15 AM

LEESBURG, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1998--Wireless Data Solutions Inc. SOLU , announced Tuesday that the board of directors of Distributed Networks Inc. (Dinet), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has elected Brian B. Blankenburg to the board of directors and as its president.

Blankenburg has been on the board of directors of Wireless Data Solutions since July 1997.

In leaving office Patrick L. Makovec commented: "It is an extreme pleasure to relinquish my position as president of Dinet to Brian, someone I have known for over 20 years, who is a strategist with excellent marketing, sales and management skills, and many years of experience. As a large shareholder of Wireless Data I am very happy he accepted this responsibility which I believe will benefit all parties." Makovec continues to hold the positions of treasurer and director of both Dinet and the company.

Blankenburg has extensive experience in senior management in three Fortune 200 companies. In addition, he became a partner in the building of Pies Inc., and during his three year relationship with the company, sales increased from $1 million to $17 million. He is a partner in the Business Development Group, a consulting firm based in Minneapolis, with a client list that includes J.C. Penney, NSP, Union Pacific, Coca Cola, TransAmerica Trucking, Heinz, Nabisco, and others. He noted: "While I enjoy consulting, I prefer the challenges of having the responsibility and authority of directing a business. Being on the board of Wireless Data I had the opportunity to examine Dinet closely over the last year, and I saw a company that had tremendous potential in meeting the ever increasing needs involving the transmission of data in the mobile fleet industry. Dinet has nearly completed the R&D that will significantly enhance its technology and literally turn its mobile data terminals into mini-computers which can utilize the Internet for data communications. The bottom line is that Dinet is a very viable company that needs a minimal amount of tweaking and capital infusion to rapidly exploit its growth potential."

Wireless Data Solutions Inc. is a hardware/software developer and marketing company involving digital wireless communications and tracking systems for mobile fleet management. The company has the capability of transmitting data over two-way radio, Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD), and voice analog cellular networks.

Statements in this news release about the company's potential, products, and growth are "forward looking statements" within the meaning of Sections 27A and 21E of the Securities Act of 1933 and 1934. The company intends that such "forward looking statements" be subject to the safe harbors created thereby.
