Also, note the absence of LMT signature...I'm sure there are many political consequences to be considered prior to becoming a co-signer of such a letter. Further, perhaps they took the congressional pulse and the status quo is not in jeopardy?

Hi Mike:

Given the pending Congressional investigation on the
China mess, Mr. Schwartz's signature would have hurt the
industry efforts to fight the switch from Commerce
to State. Until China matters are sorted out, Hughes
will be the de facto voice for the industry, for better
or for worse.

In fact, for those who watched the testimony of Michael
Armstrong in front of Congress regarding satellite
licenses, he did a great job. I do not know whether he
will save AT&T, but he was a very fine advocate for the
satellite industry. I do not know if the new CEO of
Hughes will be as effective.
