Some new and views:

I as well would have to agree that CL as a sound card/Video only co. will not last for years to come. I do think that CL does have a awesome name and the best cards/speakers right now and as long as the cards are needed(say 4-5 more years for the basic OS stuff and word, few games). I would also like to point out that GAMEING is the 2nd biggest use of the computer(#1 is word processing). This is CLs market and it does have many people in it. As for the other users that will never see the inside of a computer...CL has nothing but lost sells in this area with out OEMs.

As for Sim, I like the man but he can be more open to NEW ideas. Like the internet idea would be a no brainier... Long ago we talked about CL should get into this area and buy RealAudio... If that happened I bet you we would have one HOT co. with a bright future that the market loved. Dimd is a good example with my idea of the consumer sector. All it did was make a simple MP3 player(not the biggest seller the world will see) and the stock was on fire for days and now holding well... Why? It shows Dimd will not be just computers but will have a future in many areas. Basically it looks like Dimd is a leader.

Cut this from Anands site.
He loves the new CL PCI TNT card.

Never Would've Thought... - 8:23PM

I never would've thought that the Best TNT based card out there would turn out to be anything but the Canopus Spectra 2500...boy was I wrong. I've been working with the Creative Labs Graphics Blaster TNT, and although I only have the PCI version, I'm simply in love with this card. It doesn't have the expensive TV-Output features of its more expensive counterparts, but the $169.99 retail price of the card seems to make up for that fact quite well. I'm pushing the review of the card back just a little while in order to bring you all something that I'm sure you'll enjoy, it is a high end graphics accelerator comparison for Socket-7 users...and this time, I mean all socket-7 users. I've been benchmarking the PCI Graphics Blaster TNT using the AMD K6, Cyrix 6x86MX, Cyrix M-II, and the Intel Pentium MMX. Which video card will come out on top for Super7 users? I'll be sure to let you know in my soon to be published article...no release date as of now, but I'll keep you all updated as usual. If anyone knows of a location I can pick up an AGP Creative Labs Graphics Blaster TNT drop me an email, you all know the address ;) Thanks.

Ditto on Daniel Gold's post about only a niche player now.

Sim ought to care about the share price. He bought $20 million or so back in the spring of 1997 on the fall from 13 to 8.5. This was shortly before Chay started dumping his shares from 12 and in the summer on the next leg up and looked to be finally done selling on the first decay from 28 to 16.

I guess Chay is having the last laugh on Sim.
