I saw an Iridium ad on CNBC this morning. Are they ready to begin service?

it's the ability to talk to someone wherever they are that will see this thing thru. how many 100 mil class yachts are there in the world? do you think that a 3000.00 phone and 6.00 a min is going to deter someone like that? just one of many examples. everyday i drive down the road and see people with a cell phone in there ear. 10 yrs ago i didn't own one. now i have 2 and don't know of any of my friends that don't have one. the international traveler that needs to stay in touch for whatever reason is probably going to be well enough off to not be swayed by the cost. also they will more than likely be available for rent while you're on your trip. how many will the govt want if we have a confrontation somewhere in the world. it is my understanding that g* would have to set up a gateway in the location of the problem so the military would have a secure system.
