If you look at the end of my post you will see that I don't disagree that the price may need to come down on these low end PC's or these vendors may go with another OS choice for these machines. Competition - YES!!! it exists.

Are you implying that two square-feet of embossed cardboard, 200 cubic inches of air, and a lone CD should follow the same downward pricing pressures that govern real manufacturers? The Chinese understand how CD pricing works but the U.S. socio-economic majority that make all our buying decisions take a little longer to understand these things.

Maybe software will be the investor's hedge against inflation now that gold is unpopular.
