IF...and that is a big IF....LU buys ASND I think that may "force" CSCO to buy CIEN. Does anyone have CEIN's 1999 earnings estimate. I am looking but what I find I don't think take into account the announcement that the next two quarters will be negative. TIA, Doug

I was talking about ASND buying Cascade. ASND's recent (6-9 months) total focus on providing shareholder value Wrong! the old ASND is saved by Cascade ATM. The ISP side of the business is not very good. ASND will be bought by LU soon, and will get there DWDM that way So why did ASND just work with Pirelli recently? I personally don't think Ciena needs any takeover to recover, I actually hope all this rumors and speculations can just die down. Let the longs and shorts and Ciena fight it out.
