Gee!! For months now it has been obvious that if Greenspan
really wanted to stop the speculative fever he should raise
margin rates instead of interest rates.

This discussion on derivatives gives the answer why he has
no interest in raising margin rates. That would crush his
buddies who are hedge fund traders. So it's OK to raise
interest rates and put the little people out of work, but
it's a different set of rules for the hedge funds.

No surprise there. Money rules.
