The Island book will show you all orders listed on ISLD. These orders can be away from the market or at the inside price. Level II will show not only a market makers best bid or lowest offer, but will show ECN's as well. The exception to this is SNET . Select Net is not listed on Level II. I personally have access to the ISLD book and do not consider it a powerful tool. As a day trader it is important to try to recognize order flow. That means real buyers and sellers. ISLD is generally use by day traders that may be flipping that stock in a 1/4 to a 1 move. Real order flow would be defined as institutional or retail orders.

I hope this helped.

Virtually all ECNS give me complete pictures of their full books, beyond the bid/ask, atleast REDI, ISLD, ATTN and INCA.
If they offer it to broker dealers, it should be avail to you, just call and ask.
