Matsushita to launch DVD-RAM drive for Macintosh

TOKYO, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd said on Thursday it would in October launch digital video disc random-access-memory (DVD-RAM) drives compatible with Apple Computer Inc's Macintosh computers.

The new product would retail for 100,000 yen, Matsushita said in a statement.

In April, Matsushita launched sales of DVD-RAM drives compatible with Microsoft Corp's Windows operating system.

Matsushita said in a statement that there was strong market demand for a Macintosh version

Folks, I think we've got to acknowledge that the Motor Trend article is a truly great placement! If Ruder and Finn are behind this, they're doing their job. If not, whoever made it happen deserves a hearty round of applause from this audience.

On a related front, the September issue of Pop Sci carries an column entitled "A Race Renewed" describing the longer life of NiMH batteries and the environmental problems of NiCad batteries.

The featured companies here are Makita, Black & Decker, Bosch and Skil. Are these companies licensees?!

One of the things I'd love to see on ECD's site is a page you could go to quickly find out who the licensees are and who's being sued for patent infringement!
