I thought they were backwards, too. Then I realized that it makes sense. If you are short and the stock goes down then it shows a positive gain. So the change is relative to your position, not the stock price.

Anyone noticed that the portfolio quotes are miscolored?

Has anyone noticed that the portfolio prices that Datek shows are also adjusted for long vs short? That is, if you're short, it shows the current price as the bid, and if you're long, it shows the ask. Pretty nice.
