Henry,

I am still somewhat drugged from oral surgery. Don't have control of all my faculties. Will have to take you on regarding Greenspan and Feds another day.

Henry,

back to Greenspan. Yesterday you said ....

And you can characterize Greenspan's commentary as mumbo jumbo all you wish but it is pretty clear that a great number of people understand exactly what he says. There seemed to be little confusion yesterday.

In hind sight, it is obvious that when he made his recent speeches, he was fully aware of the LTCM situation. Instead of telling the world, he hid it under all the mumbo jumbo. His arrogance is starting to trouble me. Someone needs to tell him he is not god and most likely does not possess all the tools to fix the problems of the world. If his attitude is that congress and the American people should be informed on a "need to know" basis, totally decided by his highness, then I think it is time for him to go.

Yes, the LTCM "bail out" may not directly involve tax payer dollars. However, what has it done to the free market? Are there players on the other side of the LTCM trades counting on making a killing off LTC's mistakes, only to have their massive profits eliminated by the Feds?
