Dictaphone's product has gone nowhere in the market place very likely because of its poor sales organization and a relatively featureless product. The Lanier product's delay has much more to do with Lanier than with NCI. How will this contribute to the bottom line once this order is filled is contingent on Lanier's sale's results. No production monies have yet been paid to NCI, which from this first 3 million could be as much as 1.2 million.
Design fees have been earned by NCI on this contract and those are not even paid in full as of yet.

Intel's contract and agreement with NCI is for the design of a product we'll all be hearing much more about at the beginning of 1999. In PC MAG, Oct. 6, 1998, Inside Track by John Dvorak on page 89 you will find an article about Intel's plans to capture the DSP market for handheld portables from Mot. by introducing their StrongArm 1500 chip. The article goes on to describe Windows CE and Microsoft's predatory reputation of running off with profits
from developers using Windows CE. Moving away from W/CE and moving Intel into this arena, allows Intel to display NCI's OS for the handhelds and potentially create major opportunities for both Intel and NCI with this OS.

The ultimate importance of Intel's relationship with NCI is very understated in the news announcement last month. The company will start earning monies regularly from Lanier and will be getting design fees from Intel till the product design is delivered.

Re: music devices:

Mpman last March and now the PMP300 from Diamond due for delivery in Oct./Nov. has been announced. The technology in both these products is first generation. NCI will in the near future disclose to all of us who they are working with for music. IMO, it will be a world-class co. of the magnitude of an Intel. Intel like this other co. has customers which they will bring to NCI for product designs and licensing. This is an ideal position for NCI
to be in as the recipient of 2 biggies' customers. Co's like Intel derive their benefit because, when teamed with a design-patent house like NCI, Intel will have their chips in the design and NCI will not be able to take away or re-direct their customers.

Best to all:
