"As far as common wisdom goes, the Mac has always been seen as the platform for (and by) creative professionals; that's not likely to change, ever."

That's kind of a ridiculous statement. First of all never say "ever".
Secondly, I guess all those poor drones who use Wintel - about 7-8 times Apple are uncreative morons. Guess that goes for all the high end engineers designing at the cutting end including the Motorola people, all the high end Hollywood video and special effects people who use NT workstations and probably a smattering of mid-end brochure makers, etc. Unbelieveable. In any case, the only innovation of any real consequence in this debate (at least as of today) is the success of the GUI.

Which also brings forth an important point. Up until 1990, Microsoft being a software company, could not even patent its inventions. Ever since they software patents were allowed, Apple and Microsoft have run even more or less even.

Mark and all,

Speaking of the GUI and having been in the Wintel world for years, I have come to really like the ability to resize windows. Does anyone know if a future release of the Mac OS will offer this capability? Two months ago, my ratio of Mac's to Wintel was 0:1. Now it is 3:1. It would indeed be nice to enjoy this capability. TIA

Sam
