Here's another one...in my limited experience with class action lawsuits, I have never seen another case with so many firms jumping on the bandwagon. You guys need to understand, I don't even go looking for these things, they just show up in my mailbox. sf ============================= Kaplan, Kilsheimer & Fox LLP Files Shareholder Suit Against Alcatel Alsthom and Certain Officers and Directors PR Newswire, Thursday, September 24, 1998 at 18:08 NEW YORK, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement was issued today by the law offices of Kaplan, Kilsheimer & Fox LLP: Kaplan, Kilsheimer & Fox LLP has filed a class action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of all persons who acquired securities of Alcatel Alsthom ("Alcatel" or the "Company") in the merger of Net Acquisition, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alcatel, with DSC Communications Corporation (the "DSC Merger"), pursuant to a registration statement (the "Registration Statement") and proxy statement/prospectus issued on or about July 28, 1998. The Complaint alleges that the Registration Statement was materially false and misleading because, among other things, it failed to disclose that Alcatel was suffering a significant decline in its business and that the decline was so severe that it would negatively impact its business for the remainder of 1998. Then, on September 17, 1998, a mere six weeks after the dissemination of the Registration Statement and only nine days after the close of the DSC Merger, Alcatel shocked the market when it announced that the Company would miss analysts' earnings projections by at least $260 million. As a result of this unprecedented announcement, the price of Alcatel's securities plummeted nearly 50%. Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all persons who acquired securities of Alcatel in the DSC Merger, and is represented by Kaplan, Kilsheimer & Fox LLP which has many years of experience in prosecuting investor class actions and extensive experience in actions involving financial reporting and management fraud. You may move the court, no later than November 17, 1998, to serve as lead plaintiff. In order to serve as lead plaintiff, you must meet certain legal requirements.
