Freeus, you can get a digital camera for about $600, or a scanner for about $200.

xoom.com offers free web space.

So all you have to do is get your pictures into your computer, then upload them to your member account at Xoom. (Note that Xoom runs on a Unix variant, so everything is case-sensitive.)

The coolest thing about this rush to nanotechnology is that, along the way, regular technology gets dirt cheap while money still matters. So we can buy things like film-less cameras and have web space to share things with others -- I love this era. Truly, "The Diamond Age" (science fiction by Neal Stephenson about nanotech).

Cheers,
KenB

--- OT ---

Freeus, I just got a scanner. Here's the output from a $200 HP ScanJet 4100Cse -- a USB device, very cool, I plugged it in while the machine was running and Win98 said "hey! I've got a new device, let's go configure it" (not in those words ;-).

This is the picture I mentioned (from my wife's English book) that reminds me of the Dell Train. Perhaps we could use this on the next shirt? <VBG>

The scanner came with Adobe Photoshop, which I used to adjust the contrast so it was darker. It's also got a ton of other features, making different effects on a picture, etc. Neat stuff to play with.

Enjoy!
