You make an excellent case that makes me hesitate. But as you suggest in your postscript, "P.S. German exposure to Russia and Asia can only work in your favour in above scenario", that was precisely my rationale. The German bank exposure to the developing nations is astounding.

You see, the same thoughtful hesitation that I have in making such a play in the face of reasonable opposing views such as yours should also exist in the minds and hearts of the traders in these hedge funds. I would suggest to you and everyone that they are being reckless and their derivative hedges are, in fact, gambles. Gambles with astronomical amounts of money and dangerous consequences for you and me should the outcome go against them.
