SPRINT SELECTS SCC COMMUNICATIONS TO PROVIDE 9-1-1
MANAGEMENT SERVICES

BOULDER, Colo., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- SCC Communications (Nasdaq: SCCX) announced today
that it has signed a three-year agreement to provide Sprint with SCC's 9-1-1 Clearinghouse Services
when Sprint begins introducing the Sprint Integrated On-Demand Network(SM).

Each time Sprint signs up a new subscriber, it must make sure that each subscriber's location and
telephone number is forwarded to the right 9-1-1 database. The information in the 9-1-1 database is
critical because it helps public safety agencies find the location of a 9-1-1 caller quickly and
dispatch the appropriate emergency services. SCC's 9-1-1 Clearinghouse Service allows Sprint to
outsource the 9-1-1 data management process efficiently and cost effectively.

"SCC currently provides Sprint PCS wireless E9-1-1 services, and we're proud to add another
member of the Sprint family to our growing list of customers," said John Sims, SCC Chief Operating
Officer. "SCC Communications is the only company in the industry that can provide a wide range of
9-1-1 solutions for carriers who are active in both wireline and wireless markets."

SCC Communications provides 9-1-1 Clearinghouse services to 14 carriers. The number of 9-1-1
subscriber records that SCC manages in its Clearinghouse Services has increased four-fold since
the beginning of this year, representing one of the fastest growing segments of SCC's business.

"When we begin introducing services in 1999, it's important that we can offer our subscribers
accurate and reliable 9-1-1 service," said Carol Bussing, SPRINT vice president of National
Integrated Services. "SCC's Clearinghouse Service gives us tremendous flexibility because it
provides a single point of contact for 911 data exchange and will allow us to meet our customers'
911 requirements."
