Networking 101 tip....The future is Fiber Optic Networking. Fatter pipes require fatter interfaces ..pretty easy. Does Xylan offer this ..NO. Could Xylan be a nice addition to CSCO...sure they can..nice products ..and it's been pummeled lately. But the future (12 mos ) is DWM as an fiber optic interface for Networking devices. Read the LU 9/21 CRN.com story. That is LU's strategy. CSCO needs to be there...nothing against XYLAN,....they just have a different set of products.
