CIEN...what we may see. Don't invest on this ...do your own homework. Nettles say's : build shareholder value (means get stock price up ..he said this when stock was $11-12 Result: 2 new contracts What is coming: Bell South (rumored soon) and one more next week When: Next week Fact: Goldman & Morgan (MM's) buying mucho CIEN last couple of days. It has been said that Goldman meets with CIEN 10/8. WHY : CIEN could issue a stock buyback announcement? Goldman accumulating for a client (pick one) Fact: Lucent can go shopping in October. Do they need to invest big $$'s to catch up to a CIEN/CSCO combo? FACT: In TLAB/CIEN merger there was "Company A" who was a merger alternative. You tell me, was that CSCO or Ascend. Fact: Fiber Optic networking (R&D especially) is very important to next generation devices. GUESS: 30 days you see this whole thing play out. CIEN is desired by CSCO or LU or NT or any large networking company who has yet to integrate DWM in to their products. Price: Anywhere between $30-$35 (depending on how quickly Cien can bolster their stcok price with news etc.... Downside: Very low PE Ratio....which is good $200M in cash = strong balance sheet Great products. Low risk ...great upside.
