Did he diddle her or didn't he? On that weightly question the Republicans may well determine the fate of the Presidency. My answer is: Maybe. That's 3). Or at any rate, 3) is Clinton's interpretation of the definition that the Judge whittled down from the arguments of the opposing attorneys. It is Clinton's interpretation that matters, so long as a jury believes that really is how he thought at the time he could reasonably interpret the wording. The maybe in 3) is that Lewinsky says Clinton diddled her a few of the many times she did for him and he says he didn't. In plain language Clinton doesn't dispute that Lewinsky performed oral sex on him perhaps a dozen times, and she doesn't claim they ever had intercourse or that he ever performed oral sex on her. She says he did diddle her a few times; he says he didn't. This theoretically matters because Clinton's palusible reading of the truly weird language definining "sexual relations" for purposes of his deposition would give him a pass for his denial, unless he diddled her. Clear? Of course if he can be proven to have diddled her, or more precisely if 2/3 of the Senate after due and august deliberation determines that he diddled her, well then the President of the United States will have been determined to have perjured himself about diddling under oath, and for that reason clearly has commited a very high crime indeed. And should be impeached forthwith. Doug
