I think I gave you my return expectation of BRK in my post, which I do believe, in Buffett's humble words, will continue to be "satisfactory". I just the next double is going to take a lot longer than the last one. Sorry if I sounded arrogant - you clearly made a great buy decision on BRK which I missed, and there is no way I'd short it, that's not what I'm saying. It just sounds to me like so many of the other stocks that are supposed to continue the last two years abnormal return but are going to disappoint all the fanatics, but not the long term owners who understand what they own. If I knew you were a long term BRK shareholder I never would have taken that tone. It just sounded so much like the guys who bought BRK when Buffett became a celebrity last year and now think they are geniuses. Sure hope we can start over.

Lets start here. I would like to hear more about your rationale for a double in a couple years. Clearly the General RE cash is part of it. But that would require a big market bottom, then a rebound, no? Jeez, now I'm starting to see it...

Did you catch in the Wall Street Journal today that Buffett made a bid on the bond holdings of a huge hedge fund on the verge of bankruptcy? Bet he'd get his price on those, because the seller has to sell, and he is the only guy with the cash to buy - Soros passed.
