Joe, The answer is simple. Our "conservative" banking community has money invested with Long Term. They are really bailing out their own patooties. With our money, of course. Thank you Alan CrookedSpan for being the Great Enabler who allowed the banks and brokers to do so many stupid things with their money. Heaven forbid they should concentrate on making loans to folks who can afford to pay them back. Oh, no, gotta get those tulips while they're hot. MB
