Ali, on getting more efficiency from X86 instruction set. What you say is true, yet even Cyrix gets more done per clock cycle (except floating point) than AMD or Intel. Also, I've heard something about a delayed memory write used in the P2 but not implemented yet in the K6. And, of course, full speed L2 of a reasonable size is a big speedup.

You are the expert. I can't argue with you here. So I guess K6-2 is as good as the PII. If that is the case then I can tell you that K7 is order of magnitude better than K6-2. Stay tune for a peek of K7 on October 15. You'll be awed and delighted.
