<<5. Don't let anybody fool you that they know what's going on inside Ancor. The detractors who have posted what appeared to be information about buyouts and inferior technology are clearly wrong. Today's article and announcement proves that.>> How true. I was struck by the fact that ANCR finally announces some long awaited big news, and the deal is with a company that, as far as I can recall, has never been mentioned on this thread. Perhaps there's more to this FC stuff than meets the eye? This PR also made me think of the recent post(s) on Yahoo recounting a conversation with Ken Hendrickson. Looking back on that now that one part of it has been delivered upon in a way better than most of us had imagined (seemingly no dilution or, at worst, warrants) makes the rest of the conversation much more enjoyable to re-read. pardon my cheerleading, but may I say "Only 8 hours til Ancor blasts through 1 1/2!" I think I'm safe with that. the freep

George,

<<The InfoStor article and the IBM connection was interesting, but the patent on SMARTcentres is apparently owned by a company called Fibre Channel Solutions.>>

Fibre Channel Solutions is Ron Howell's [former IGS] new company. They are very bullish on FC.

George,

<<I am breathing easier.>>

I'm actually breathing again. <g>

You make excellent points in your post. This deal does several things in one fell swoop. It reinforces the belief that the Fibre Channel market is expanding, validates the core technology of the MKII and the technical expertise of the Ancor design team, removes the uncertainty regarding Ancor's survival without diluting existing shareholders, adds significant revenue and earnings to the bottom line, increases Ancor's visibility, opens the door to additional OEMs, and silences the critics. Not bad for a day's work. <g>
