How do I get such leverage? Which banks were putting up such sums so I can avoid them? Were bankers eager for the interest on the loans? Heads should roll now and not just when the masses bring out the guillotine.

That type of leverage is not unusual. In the interbankl currency market, that type of leverage is common.
