The USA is in good shape, relatively. Much of the rest of the rest of the world isn't. More and more we learn of the financial involvement of various sectors of the US financial community in the shaky parts of the world's finance. There is way, way more of that that hasn't yet been uncovered. It doesn't all necessarily collapse. But it could. There is a lot of risk out there right now, and a lot of downside momentum, which a few .25 or .5 % Fed rate cuts don't really much address.

marginmike,

The biggest problem are these Idiots in Washington who dont seem to realize there is anything going on in the world except BILL and Monica.

You are assuming that if the Idiots in Washington were focused, they would contribute constructively. I think that's a wrong assumption.
