Andy, I think Dell was selling for around $4 in January of 1993...

The Nasdaq chart shows the Dell price around $1.40 in Jan 93. You would have been a brave investor to have held Dell through the price collapse that year. I sold out, but started buying again later. The price in the following year was around $0.75 which showed a good return when I sold some at $92 this year!

Dell is a great stock that I continue to hold (around 40% of my portfolio and % rising !), but good sense says you should always be ready to take some profits and spread the risk.
