Paul,

***********OFF TOPIC**************************

Thanks ... interesting articles.

I guess poverty certainly has to be scoped relative to time ...as far as the weight of GI's vs. people today .... I suspect the GI's (seasoned fit soldiers for the most part) were in much better physical shape.

As far as the Canadian medical system goes... the wait times are longer than they should be - but interestingly, if you look at outcome as an indicator of quality of treatment and "years of life lost", our results are actually (for reasons I am not fully aware) better than the US. IMO it is likely because our system picks up things earlier due to people getting things checked out sooner .... perhaps our system encourages routine physicals, more so than he US ... I am not really sure.

Take care,

MB
