I thought you would enjoy this analysis of FP from Yahoo:

TheStockExpert Sep 25 1998 9:04AM EDT

The latest news from my sources (sorry, I can't identify them): it is unlikely that FP will be purchased for more than $ 82 per share.

Apparently two of the prospective bidders backed off, leaving only three potential acquirors still in the hunt.

Once again, agents of Mr. Pink, Boiler Roomers, creatures of the underworld, and vulgar critters ARE NOT invited to reply.

Pink, re:VTR - what happens to the stock in Jan99 if it becomes a REIT? What cap rate is the current norm for these?

HBCO - What makes a stock go up from 1 to 6 in one day, without news, and not enough short interest for a squeeze? This certainly doesn't seem to be the time of irrational exuberance, ala LOCK, ZE, KTEL, etc.

Was there some fantastically positive news on Hungary that I missed?!

If someone knows what happened, please enlighten me.

Ken

Mr. Pink,

As a hedge fund manager, any thoughts regarding the failure of Long Term Capital Management? How did their supposedly nearly risk free trading strategy of capitalizing on momentary market inefficiencies go so far awry?
