rrman, here I go with my bad attitude about bailing out ANYTHING. But if the truth was know, we would probably find that a number of BLIND TRUSTS are investors in LTCM and the owners of the blind trusts would probably lead to some very powerful people.

Just in case anyone doesn't remember BLIND TRUSTS. They are set up by politicians so they can CLAIM they have no control over nor knowledge of how or where the money is invested. :-)
