PC shipments to grow 13.2 percent in 1999, IDC says. infoworld.com "Sales in the United States and Western Europe -- which account for 73 percent of total worldwide PC shipments — will play a major role in boosting PC shipments from a forecast of 80.2 million units this year to 89 million units in 1999, market researcher IDC said Wednesday at its annual PC Market Outlook conference, in Santa Clara, Calif. " Can these numbers be right? I thought PC shipments in 1998 would be much greater.
