No doubt PE's can be high and can stay high but trees dont grow to the sky. Two other comments on you post.

Consider: Price to Free cash flow in liu of Price to Earnings. Why are companies issuing debt and doing share buybacks (ala IBM, Dell, Intel etc) if they are so profitable.

And when the chairman of the FED mentions "something to this new economy" my Red alert siren go's off. ie I strongly disagree and feel it is simply a matter of a huge liquidity expansion but I guess time will tell.
