HiTech: Emotions say short, technicals say buy.

Depends on whose technicals you are using!

HiTech,

I just started following the TRIN. I believe it was mentioned earlier that the 5-day TRIN has been over 6 for the last 3 days. Has that happened before?

So can I conclude that it failed yesterday, although I am aware that it is an accurate indicator.

I have noticed that many technical indicators are giving incorrect signals or lets say changing their parameters. For example, the VIX was normally a SELL signal when it was under 20 and noticed that it did change to around 28 and then 36. I realise that the VIX is not as accurate as the TRIN, but its one example of technical indicators failing/changing.

Could it be that with the extreme volitility that the sell signal on the TRIN is actually moving higher??

Just want to learn more about the TRIN, since it is a valuable short-term indicator.
