Alastar, couple of proplems as I see it: 1) Earnings for 4th Qtr and next yr haven't been adjusted down. 2) The Asian disaster div. of lower comodities and lower oil prices (81 bil from producers to consumers in past 9 months) more that offset demand declines from US to Asia 3) interest rates are having a dimished effect on corporate earnings in that corporate debit as % of equity has been cut from 90% to 40% in the past ten year as well as being lower on a absolute basis. Bottom line is interest rate reductions arn't going to drive profit growth as they have in the past and certianly our economy doesn't need to be stimulated.
