Tepli, don't think its positive or negative for Intel. Cyrix inked the deal with IBM while they were still independent. When swallowed by National, National Fabs became the more logical place to build. With National's fabs now running at ~40+% of capacity, it seems to make sense to bring any and all production back in house that is technically feasible.

This news was first announced about a month ago, perhaps this is a refinement of the precise timing, I'm not sure.

NSM/Cyrix has been a "don't care" for Intel for the last year.

NSM's execution of their business strategy has the potential to make this a permanent "don't care" situation.
