Deutsche says had no stake in LTCM fund

FRANKFURT, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank AG (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: DBKG.F) said on Friday it
had no stake in the struggling U.S. hedge fund, Long-Term Capital Management, but that it planned a $300 million
participation in the LTCM rescue package.

The bank said in a statement that it did not make unsecured funds available to the hedge fund.

However, Deutsche said it would help the Fed-brokered rescue plan ''becuase (Deutsche) is one of the biggest participants in the global financial
markets and wishes to avoid the turmoil that the collapse of the hedge fund would bring to these markets.''

The $300 million contribution would be unsecured, Deutsche said, and so far it had suffered no direct loss from the LCTM crisis.
