you're right GSCO is a BUYER of CIEN.... for the last two weeks i've had my eyes on CIEN alone for the entire day and GSCO was there all the time on the bid.....

GSCO is buying but why would he buy at a higher price when it is coming lower..... but when it's dropping he catches alot of shares....

actually is use GSCO position on the bid to guage where the stock will stop dropping and try to turn around..... for intraday....

like i've been saying... i think CIEN called GSCO and asked for help on the price.... and why wouldn't GSCO help out ... they have alot to gain in the months to come... maybe 100%....

maybe CIEN told or hinted to GSCO what good stuff they have yet to reveal to prove to GSCO that it's worth buying up CIEN....

my speculation.... notice there wasn't anything there about an imminent buyout.... that will take 3 to 12 months....
